Giving back to the community
The Boys shave Cedar, Papa, and Orien
Bald Brothers
Team Starbucks after all the heads were shaved
Cedar proud and bald
Orien minus the dark ringlets!!
I think it is hard to ask of small children to fund raise. I am never sure they understand. The money is a mystery, the cause confusing. With that said I think there are always ways to soften up topics and get to the bottom line. We all need help at times. We all need community. We all understand pain at some level. The boys along with there Papa chose to join Team Starbucks and fund raise for St. Baldricks. St. Baldricks is a non-profit organization trying to gather money to help with children's cancer research. Simple. Earn money, celebrate by shaving hair to signify unity with others going though cancer. Stop cancer. My kids took it as kid are sick, we need to stop the sickness, we need scientists to help. We can help kids feel better and Never deal with cancer at all. The Eamonn boys earned over 900 dollars, team Starbucks over 4,000.00 and enjoyed celebrating with friends and family.
Meet Seldovia Sundancer
Jody, Cedar and I wandered to Alaska with dear friends 5 years ago. We rented a RV, wandered the open land, played, hiked, sipped wine in the midnight sun and feel in love with both Alaska and the RV way of travel. We ended that trip visiting friends in Seldovia, Alaska and left with a piece of us constantly keeping the beat alive that we will return, possibly live there one day but none the less enjoy the Alaska air!
Fast forward 5 years, 2 more kiddos and life. Finally we have a 1979 Itasca RV!!! Not ready to head to Alaska in her but you never know. She got us to and fro the Poudre River last weekend and we had a wonderful time camping with friends and living the life! Too many more adventures Seldovia Sundancer!!!

Free in the Outside
Sometimes I stir the pot too much. I stay inside on windy days. I don't bundle the kids on spring snows. I get that overwhelming urge to stay in....soak up a movie and let the kids be inside junkies. And then it takes a day in the woods to clear all our heads. To re-connect with our true inner and outer shells and there in the woods all remands calm. It has happened more often lately with a late spring of snow and wind.
The kids don't mind the wind. The kids don't need or want the layer. They want the elements. We spent the day on Bobcat Ridge with great friends recently and I knew this was where our hearts it. It wasn't perfect, Dark clouds, winds, a crying Truthy teething. But in the end a wandering back to the roots of animal prints, budding cacti, kids running, rain pouring and still they Cedar remained calm. He ran farther then he ever has, laughed loud, worried little and was FREE.
So the next time the wind howls, the snow falls, I too will join my family to experience life outside in the real world!!

It is Springtime
Spring time in the Mountains
Sometimes a test of MUD and SNOW
a test of indoor energy needing to head out
the windows open the pellet stove on minutes later
Kids growing, siblings struggles, sister kisses
Daddy on his 4 wheeler, making plans for the new porch
Mommy with her P90X
Family time at the zoo, family time cuddling in a warm house
Springtime in the Mountains....
I find this spring to be testing my patience.
Apparently my body is completely ready for green grass, flowers, sunshine, heat
The days it snows I can't find King Winters very welcoming
The cries from clean Orien as he trips in the mud are wearing
The kids seem to be ready to hang up there winter gear for good and return to bare feet and shorts
The glimpses of spring keep us going
the hikes with the melting snow
the planting of wildflowers and wheat grass
The biking down the Mt and jumping on the trampoline with laughter remind of the days to come
We anticipate the Easter Bunny's visit, of colored eggs, candy...it make more sense this season of Easter
COLOR, GRASS, BUNNIES, CELEBRATION!!! And so we hold tight to Ostara Rabbit Story and the magic hidden amongst the gray cold, more like winter then spring days!!!
