Happy Birthday Cedar

Yeah..Cedar is 4..unbelievable really...again I still think of Cedar as my babe..my little babooshka. And now though not a big guy..he is definitely a big guy!! Only 4 lbs older then Orien he is the oldest!! So I figured this again would be a nice excuse to write a letter in honor of your birthday to help document your last year!!

Dear Cedar,

You are officially 4..well not quite if you go by your beautiful birth at 5:14 pm..but we'll let that float! You little red head ....the same beautiful hair finally grew in this last year! In fact you had your first hair cut at a little kid shop called Silly Scissors. You began a lot of new classes as well...You had your first season of soccer..you really like the coach and within a couple weeks you were really into the running and kicking! You also went to a little waldorf school with mommy and Orien callede Sweet Pea garden where we made delicious applesauce, you played, fed goats, and enjoyed the teachers songs..but soon you graduated and went to school for the first time without mommy....You LOVE it which came as a great surprise. At the Enchanted Circle waldorf school you spend now 2 days a week with Ms. Red and all you new friends...your favorite Rafe and Stewart amd of course Benjamin whom we hear about daily. You spend time baking bread, singing songs, (your favorite the days of the week song, and primary colors)digging in the dirt, catching bugs, growing a garden and hiking! It is so nice to hear you say you love school...and enjoy the time without the family!! And i think your other favorie new activity is dance class. You fell in love with tap and ballet and were the sutest duck I hav ever seen.singing "you are my sunshine, and rubber ducky" at you dance recital. And you have a huge crush on the dance teachers daughter Alex who helps teach you all the wonderful moves in dance class!!!!

Cedar you are an amazing fellow. You have a strong mind of your own..a trait that will get you far in life. When you set you mind to something that is it!!!You can negotiate better then many adults and fair well in getting what you want!!!! I love to watch you in crowds..You are a true observer..standing back in the group to take it all in and then BOOM when you are comfortable weather that be in minutes, weeks or months you join in and Love the activity etc...At time the follower I see you watching the "big Kids" and wanting so bad to do what they are doing! A bit of a daredevil...you will try many new tricks at bouncy castles, in pools or at the park! You are a true introvert spending so much time out in the sandbox building "houses" digging holes for the concrete mixer to pour...talking all the while to tour self as you go about your play! At night you read to yourself for hours....and then eventually fall asleep..all to wake, run upstairs, and cuddle the nights away up in our big bed!

You are a sweet big brother...giving kisses to Orien and Truth. Playing outside for hours with Orien...you love to "celebrate" your version of a party in the trampoline. you constantly are singing...you 2 could start a band one day! You have a gentle heart..full of "i love yous" to your daddy,mommy, siblings..and whenever you are around your friends you are full of hugs! Just today as we left playing with Benjamin you turned to me and said "I Love Benjamin" "He is my best friend" what a nice guy! and had to run back to give him a hug!

When I look back to the last 4 year I am amazed at how much you have grown. I love watching your silly quirks everyday from the finger rub when you are exhausted to the rubbing of the "night night" that still somehow has survived. Your energy is endless..I dont think you will ever enjoy sitting a table to eat..(unless at a tea room for sushi!), You wish you culd stay up all night every night...(ugh) and for all this we love you....and cant wait for another day filled with bug catching, swimming in the muddy pool and building beautiful fairy homes!! Happy Birthday Cedar....You are a treat to be with daily!!

3 weeks...such a peacefull little one

Well is seems we have almost made 3 weeks as a family of 3. Plenty keep asking how it is going..how is 3???? being outnumbered....a life with 3 goes something like this...taken through the eyes of mama!! The wake up of a sweet, squirming babe sleeping next to me...Orien is his crib 2 ft away says "hi mommy" GET ME OUT!! and Cedar laying on my other side..insisiting he is HUNGRY,,and there it starts...rushing a baby feed to get downstairs....swaddle the babe in the wrap..and get the pancakes mixed and cooked.....EAT I say i million times as this day we have to be in the car by 7:30am to get Cedar to camp....get the boys dressed in what ever is easy to find, pack the camp bag, change the babe AGAIN...feed AGAIN...grab some yogurt to down for mama and load em' up......where are the shoes>>>the Ipod????the kids..check all three...have to clip in those damn car seats x3....we are off....

Arrive at camp, drop of kid #1...ahhhha break..another feed in the bus before entering the Starbucks...thank god!! cuddle the babe, play with Orien and head out for a walk....meet with friends, wander..FEED, and already off to get Cedar from camp...

another drive home, another meal to prepare Lunch....FEED the babe!! ahhhh nap time..YES we all 4 go up stairs find our bed and on a good day we are all sleeping....!!!

Wake..Kids begging to be played with, Truth begging for yes milkies again....a little play, a jump on the trampoline...a glance at the "to do list" add to the list be NEVER check anything off..NEVER...crap bills late, pay, kids hungry..calling Jody WHERE ARE YOU??? dinner!!!! hold out for daddy..cook....eat.....showers books FEED....look at the to do list again..sigh.....dear god 10pm....and that means sleep time with Truth,,,awake 1am.....back to sleep 2am.....awake 5am.....sleep and start all over again.........but so far it is worth it....

and a break Mimi and Grandpa are here...Daddy out of town..Yeah play help!!!!

The Family Bed!!

Ode to the KING size bed!! Just a few pics of the family sleeping in one a lazy morning...yes we all seem to make it to the bed before the day has started and cuddle with the babe! And of course my Orien still half a sleep sucking away!! This happend to be one of those "gove me the baby" days so she got her fair share of the brothers!!!! but in the end SLEEP is what we are all getting..thanks to a mellow little girl!
